So Fetidus started up again, which is "awesome", its one of my favorite podcasts, so when it seemed like it might podfade, I was pretty depressed. The author feared the same thing, so what did he do? He recorded the entire thing, reworked the episodes he had already put out, and then has scheduled a release of one episode a week.
Pretty hot stuff, its a guaranteed free episode every Friday until the thing is finished, no worries that it might suddenly stop midway through like some podcasts do.
So what is it? Its sort of a cross between a podcast book and an audio drama. Podcast books tend to have an author reading, but few sound effects, closer to a regular published audio book from one of the big houses, but usually free. Podcast Audio dramas are more like old style radio shows, like listening to a movie. Fetidus is mostly the author reading, but there are also other voice actors, plenty of sound effects, etc.
So whats it about? Its a noir fiction piece, so you've got super hot dames, a private dick, conspiracies aplenty, etc. Whats different is its set in a post-apocalyptic setting, a few decades in the future after a huge zombie outbreak (which seems to have revealed a lot of other "diseases" that are passed via bites, like vampires, werewolves, etc). Ultimately, cross some Dresden Files with Anita Blake, put it 30 years in the future, and you get Fetidus, The Foundation for the Ethical Treatment of the Innocently Damned, Undead, and Supernatural. I "almost" remembered what the whole acronym stands for, I like it that much, sadly I got stuck trying to remember what the "us" stood for. ;)
So take this as a big recommendation, try it out, its free, its awesome, its waiting.
