    Another Hello

I was lurking under a half rotted cabbage leaf at the local dump and Richard dug me out and pushed me in this direction.  I started playing D&D before it started getting edition numbers and we had to play by candle light and torches.  Now we have running water, electric lights and a computer.  Still not to sure about this computer thing but I am working on it.  Takes old dogs a little longer to learn new tricks. I read a couple of blogs and an Art Monkey strip from a few years ago and decided I would hang around awhile to see how this Old Grump fits in with such a lively bunch.

Hey welcome to the forums Old Grump!  I hadn't thought you'd join the forums when I messaged you the other day, welcome!  We'll have to have a day where the oldtimers explain to the young upstarts about unbound roleplaying material, using a white crayon to fill in the numbers of a die, and all the other stuff we take for granted now.

Heck, I kinda miss going to the pharmacy and digging out dimes to photocopy character sheets, theres something missing when I print out a character sheet with all my information already filled in. :(

Well I had to check a site called dork and as a guy who has to get my daily Beetle Bailey and Alley Oop fix I had to check out the comix.  I would be the jock playing with the nerds.  Got my physical agression a little sated playing with the bruise squad but the fun stuff was with the junior rocket scientists.  People who appreciated Fritz Lieber and read Isaac Asimov.

You had photo copy machines????  I had to load the mimeograph with my clay tablets and crank carefully.  If you broke one you had to put it back together or no mammoth burger for supper.

Speaking of Fritz I think he is part of the reason I am partial to Human fighters and Halfling Rogues and a huge influence in my DM style.  Wish he wasn't out of print.
