    After making sure to collect the fine long sword of the zombie knight's body he draws it out to lend aid against the giant spider, trying to hit it from it's flank.

    Int 18 +4

    And attacks 20

    Dmg6 + 3

    OOCShinobi is playing a Ninja Sorcerer who is replacing Breslan at the end of this combat.

    (This is the last combat of the module so was going to include him when you guys left the High Tower and were heading closer to Lonely Shores.)


    Romlu misses the spider but Brelsan slashes through it's body with his longsword seperating one half of it's body from the other.

    as you get closer to the doorway, you notice it is completely filled with spider webs instead of a normal doorway.
    You destroy the webs in the doorwar with your weapons.
    The party step over the body of the spider and walk into the room it was guarding.
    All you see is Numerous body-shaped lumps, each wrapped carefully in layers of grey thread like woven mummies.
    What do you do?

    Poking one of the mummified bodies leaves a poke mark in the husk but no noise/movement occurs.

    (Jack casts detect magic)

    Jack uses his magic sense to determine whether there is any magic inside the cocoons.  He also checks everything that they have found thus far. (e.g. the ring from the flying head, the sword from the zombie etc.)

    On the ground you see a faint trace of transmutation but nothing coming from the cocoons. Brelsan slits one of the cocoons open and finds a dead mummified corpse of a rat.
    Jack also sees that the ring shows a faint divination aura, the Headband has a faint abjuration aura and the belt you picked up from the bugbears has a faint conjuration aura on it.
    The sword doesn't glow.

    After Jack mentions he can see a faint glow on the floor, Brelsan searches the room for other treasure (assuming Jack picks up the glowing object, if Jack doesn't he does.).
    Search: 19
    He finds a small bag containing 75gp.

    You have found a total of : 441gp, a masterwork longsword (315gp), the headband, 2 pearls worth ??? (Give me an appraisal roll for that :D ), a magic ring, a magical belt, a magical headband and a magical pearl
    Plus you've found a medium sized suit of studded leather armor(25gp) (I decided the second suit was destroyed by the acid thrown on it), 2 light shields(3gp each), 2 short swords(10gp each), 2 javelins(1gp each) which you can take and sell if you want to.
    OOCYou'll get 1/2 price for the armor/weapons so I'd recommend talking the armor and the swords unless someone wants to use the shields/javelins.


    Brelsan says "Since we haven't used any spells today, let's do another check of the cave then keep heading towards Lonely Shores." but you don't find anything that you haven't already found.

    OOCThat's the end of the first teaser module that I wanted to use to bring you guys up to level 2. Everyone gets 2100 XP) We'll move onto the main adventure and add in Shinobi's character so I'll drop Brelsan at Lonely Shores as a NPC. He may be added back in as I need to.
    What you have found OOC knowledge only is: a Headband of the Stout Heart, worth 350gp +1 to all will saves; a Translator's ring, adds + 2 languages including literacy of the language worth 400 gp; Lifting Belt, +1 enhancement bonus to carrying weight str does change str bonus/actual str score 500gp; Pearl of Power 0 lvl - allows owner (any divine/arcane caster) to recall 1 0 lvl spell /day worth 500gp.


    Total cash: 441gp, sell the armour and swords for 23gp plus 315gp worth of sword, 2 pearls and 1750gp worth of magic items. If you want the magic items IDed, it will cost you the 2 pearls plus another 240gp unless Jack can cast identify where it will only cost you an additional 200gp worth of pearls.

    Shinobi, once we have worked out the split of equipment, I'll write you into the story and we will continue along.

    OOCim not sure at what point in the game we get our level up benifits so ill leave it of the table for now and i dont think druids get identify

    "well i have an contact at the mage guild so if your willing too part with the training costs plus raw material i can have the magic items identified." said eldan looking through his spell book "i say we take everything of value and devide the gold along the lines of who needs what like armor spells ect and if you want alchmical items before buying them let me try too make it as for what too get at town i think jack should get a new sword and i buy a new spell off the top of my head"

    Jack: "I think identification is rather too expensive.  I'm guessing it will cost us most of our haul to identify the magic items.  I vote we travel onward.  We can identify our items by experimentation.  At least now we know what kind of magic is on each item, which should help us to guess their purposes."

    "Since the ring uses divination magic, I'll just keep it on until I discover I know something that I shouldn't.  The headband uses abjuration, so I guess it is a protective item, one of us should always wear it, in case it saves them.  I'm not too certain about the belt or the pearl though.  I can hardly imagine what a belt would conjure up, or a pearl would transmute."

    i'll  take the headband then and we'll split the belt and pearls between the two of us for safe keeping and see if you able too use that sword it looks in high quality

    Jack: "That sword is a bit too artificial for me.  This scimitar is about as much metal as I can take in a weapon.  I'll take the belt then."

    OOCThe rules are that a druid may only use druid weapons.  If I used it, I would lose my druid abilities for 24 hours.

    Everyone gets to level to level 2 with 2100 XP.

    sorry, RL has been hectic for me but will post more tomorrow.
    I kinda play that as you go, you are doing the things you need to level and you get the benefits straight away.
