I select some parchment, quill, and ink - bid him farewell and set off towards Winterhaven on foot.

    Shaggy

Lips clenched tight with resolve but only for a second, my cheerful nature wins out.  I drop 2 silver coins on the table, grin, not that anybody can tell behind my beard and wink at the cleric, again not an easy to thing to see.  Put on my wide brimmed leather hat and wait on Cyril.  I have no love of cities and admittedly couldn't find my way out of town let alone any place interesting.  I wait on Cyril, he seems to be better equipped for this town travel.  I'll feel better among the beasts and open skies.  Well not so open, a mountain would be good, maybe the cultists will be in the mountains, that would be nice....for me.

I might be grumpy but I am pretty, whatcha gonna do about it?

Alright, cool, you have your reasons to head to Winterhaven. I've got one more in reserve for anyone who joins late (Spots are open! Tell your friends!) Not that combat will be soon, but could you give input on how you want your marching order to be once you all meet up? http://www.flickr.com/photos/canageek/sets/72157605769778788/ has marching orders and minis and what not. Also I'd like to know what map style you like...not that we'll be in combat soon or anything.....

So what are each of your travelling arrangements.

OOCI've not heard from him that he's not, but I've not heard that he is. He's not been on IRC in 3 days so he may just be away from Internet.

BTW I can be contacted by email, google talk, or MSN messenger at Canageek at Gmail.com or often on IRC at irc.otherworders.org as Canageek (or dork or nerd....I cycle through them) in #dnd3e ...I will run for two people, it'll just take more work in my part to balance the encounters....I'll look up the XP budget rules when I get home...

    Shaggy

Has this thing about horses if anybody suggests riding, they either try to eat him or breed him so they stay away from each other.... unless Shaggy is really hungry.

Assuming I am still in the company of Cyril I use my last 8 GP to buy a pickaxe and if anything is left over as much dried meat as I have money for.  Our feet are pointed to Winterhaven and I am looking forward to it.  Mostly I am looking forward to being outside where I can scratch what itches and my gas offends nobody.  Cheaper shopping in the woods too.  Do I see anybody else going in that direction?  What is the weather like and the country outside the walls.

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

No, however as the road thins out you notice another traveller headed in the same direction as you.

You've now met eachother, if anyone else joins I'll introduce them latter....
OOCQuestoin: Would you like an NPC or two to go with you to make combats easier or should I have altering the mods in the combat a try? Or you each could have alt chracacters to run...I'm open to suggestions while I look for another couple of players.

    Shaggy

Waddling as fast as my thick stumps will carry me I approach the stranger while twirling my pickaxe like a baton, I need to stop breaking them.  planting myself in front of the stranger I introduce myself by holding the hair back from one eye so he can see me.  Didn't do it with the cleric because she approached me.

    "Names Shaggy, wanna travel together?"

    OOC

Okay I think I have this thing ooc figured out.  For fellow players I am a hairy unkempt Dwarf with scale armor, ax on my belt and I play with my pick a lot.  Wide brimmed hat and hair in my eyes protect my eyes from bright light.  Please describe my fellow travelers.  I can run a Dwarf NPC till we get another player in or I could make him permanent, your choice.  To make it easy I'll have him be Shaggy's little brother and just knock a point off str and int, equip the same.

I don't have ooc figured out, how do I make it a box instead of a single 7 km long line

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

Are you headed to Winterhaven too? It might be best if we stick together as the road there can be dangerous.

Ooc: I guess I could roll up another character if we need it. A Wizard maybe?

    Shaggy

I balance my pick on my forefinger and look the stranger up and down, ((What am I seeing?))

"Winterhaven, yes, danger yes, I watch your back you watch mine, yes?"

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

OOCType your text first then add use the PBF code function on it. Or just hit enter at some point....

Ok, I may have one or two more people joining, but go ahead and roll up new characters. You can roll them or get them from somewhere else (I belive at least one of the people who has dropped out had rolled up a character plus there some available here or if you want a more unusuall character here.

As a note one of the new players will be playing a Drow Wizard or Cleric if she does join, though it will not be evil.

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

OOCTook the Halfling Rogue if needed and he will be male. Named him Dark Star, Star for short.

Well I'll be tickled with a swizzle stick, it worked

    Star

Dressed head to foot in dark Gray and wearing soft boots I silently hold back from the group and watch everybody out of the corner of my eyes while seemingly engrossed in tying and untying a series of intricate knots in the end of my rope.

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

Ooc: Errr... don't take the Halfling Rogue... Bragon already *is* a halfling rogue! We need a cleric/warlord and/or a Wizard.

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

OOC((Would you believe Star is a cleric who just happens to be going to Winterhaven to become an assistant to the old cleric already there)) Scratch Star the rogue, he must have been a pigmentation of my evacuation....uh imagination.  ((He's gone if we get another cleric))

    Star

Star eyes his new companions with a jaundiced eye, neither look very reputable to me.  Well its going to be a long trip maybe their eyes and ears will help protect me from earthly dangers and I can work on their souls.

I might be grumpy but I am pretty, whatcha gonna do about it?
