10/20/2008 - Good roleplayers have long names...right?

Today's comic was spawned from a few games I played in where the DM's characters had the best stuff, the best weapons, and would randomly be able to do things to save the day.  Sadly, I think I made that mistake a few times myself when I was 13 or 14.   Luckily I grew out of it pretty quick, though the games I remember most having this trouble were run by people in their 30s!  If you've ever experienced this first hand, maybe post here...

The site upgrade went pretty well.  This week is going to be a slow week, because I'm working on a few other things like a card generator for item cards, campaign cards, etc (well really any kind of card) for my campaign this Saturday, but then I have some more improvements I want to make next week, including the rest of the migration of the site upgrade to the forums, complete with a few more features for PBFs.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everybody for visiting our site and posting comments and such.  I'm glad that some of you like the new layout.  Rich has put a great deal of work into realizing the image I had dreamed up and making it functional.  There will probably be a few bugs here and there, but we'll (and by that I pretty much mean Rich) get on those promptly.  We're also looking to update the forums, especially adding more tools and functionality for Play By Forum games.  Overall, I'm very excited about the new layout and I'm hoping that will re-energize me to the point of being able to do more than one comic a week.  With effort, I don't think that three a week is out of the question.

And I'd like to apologize for only managing a comic a week (if that).  Not to be a big whiner, but I don't know what I'm doing anymore and it's hard to do things passionately if there are other things you should be doing instead.  (Honestly, it shouldn't take me this long to get an A+ certification.)  So I bounce from thing to thing, reading a little, studying a little, posting a little, web-surfing a little, flipping through story-focused indie RPGs and sighing futiley a little, and typically putting together a comic at the last minute.  I'd really like to give you guys more than that.

Maybe some Red Bull would help.  Apparently it gives you "wiiings".  Anybody else ever notice that with the multiple "i"s?

So we have a new site layout, it still needs to be polished, but we've been working on this site layout for like 4 months so I decided we needed to get this out there, then improve, otherwise nothing will ever push us.

But we have some issues, we know this, we're working on them.
One thing is the xml feed, the link vanished, here it is temporarily.

So Jason is hoping to get another comic done soon, so it looks like we at the very least should have a comic for next week, though if we're lucky we'll have another comic this week "and" another comic next week. :)

Characters
The characters so far have been pretty much the same, Mareg and Lia are both nearly identical.  Why?  Well Mike, and Melissa were both kinda irritated at having to start at level 1 again just because the DM wanted to switch to 4th edition.  Because of that, they've chosen to refine their character concepts and continue the story they hope to tell with their characters.  Or at least thats what Mike agreed to after careful coaching from Melissa.

Forum Games.  GreatGuy necrod some forum games, so I'll go ahead and bring them up here.

Its funny to me to think of what the above information is going to do to the SEO for dndorks. ; )
