Woooo! Retro Wednesday. I must admite that this is a bit more Retro than I expected but WoooHooo!
I can't wait for the "Worst Player" and "Worst DM" comics (So very cool)Ah Mike, to think once you were a Jock cloaked in shadow :)
Hrm doesn't thing create a continuity error with Ethan's character joining the younger generation mentioning that his original character sheet was 3.0 when here it seems DM's campaign will be 3.5?
Though this does cause me to wonder, who were, and what happened to the various folks whose names filled the credit blocks in the days of yore who are no longer with the strip?
Perhaps, now that the old comics are being redone in the current artistic style and the comic will be relived in a way, it's an opportune moment for a some-time reader (namely me!) to step out from under the duckboards and register to join in on the commenting. So hello!
For me, the redoing of the oldies is really awesome, because when I was first reading through the archives, the only put-off I had with the otherwise great comic was the erratically changing drawing style of the early days. It especially bugged me because it never looked as crisp as whatever comic was on the front page at the time of reading. It'll be very refreshing to see the beginning of the story in the "proper" style.
Marand: Yeah we kind of realized that if we were to ever put out a compilation book, then we'd have to have a more uniform style.
Dark_Psalm: I don't know if we'll redo those, since those are in the current style.
WyteNite: I knew it was you! *takes elbow off of reset button* Uh yeah... > _>
Nived: The original Artist/Writer (Chris and Andy) quit and got fired respectively. As far as I know Chris quit when he realized he couldn't keep up with it, and Andy got fired when he wanted to put the comic on hold without consulting anyone else. When Chris quit we went through a slew of artists (including our current loved artist Jason). When Andy got fired Ryan started being the writer. But then Ryan wanted to do the exact same thing Andy did. So we fired him, and Rich took over.
White Crane: That was Rich's idea. :D
Shador: I love when people say that. XD
Minsk: Welcome to the community of commentors! That's another reason to do it. In my opinion comics are nice because they can show the growing path of an artist, but if the artist has grown too much then the beginning will be offputti We don't know if we'll do it, but we were thinking of having Jason redo his old ones because he's gotten a lot better then when he first started drawing dndorks.
Emtbuckethead: I did it all in the huge format, but it was sooo big file size wise. @__@ And yes, get the minions fans to vote!
Darigaaz: You made me go into a coughing fit because I was laughing so hard.
Oh my gosh long repies suck. ;-;
Its nice to know that some people understand the joke.
So is Jason, Artmonkey, and Hawker the same artist or not? If not they can copy each other's work pretty well.
Anyway i would hope that they use the original costumes... because then the costume change joke just wouldn't work.
Jason = Artmonkey = Jason, but I don't know who Hawker is. Must be one of those interim guys.
Oh, yeah, the costumes. Gah! That's going to suck. I hate Mareg's old outfit.
hey everyone!
i'm jumping on the bandwagon along with minsk and signing up in conjuntion with the reloaded comics.
ive been reading for ages now and love this comic.
i did like the old format with more panels, but with production cuts and the price of oil.. its understandable.
keep up the good work, i can't wait for "magic stone" the cleric's signature spell.
It will have more panels, those are going to be posted tomorrow.
Doesn't anyone read the rants? ;-;
Wait, wait... A compilation book?
*happydance*
My first though upon seeing this was "Whoah, TIMEWARP!!".
Is that 10 s', or 10 5's?
