Xaeraes Tuneir

 When Xaeraes was born, he had an oddly colored birthmark on his upper left back that was most similar to a double scimitar.  It was decided that Xaerae's patron was Daisar, a heroic elf who was known for single handedly defeating a cloud giant while a group of women and children fled. 

All of Xaerae's life, he was reminded of Daisar's accomplishments and taught to revere his ancestor.  Over the decades of training, Xaerae's became more and more resentful of the constant reminding of how hard he must train to not do dishonor to his patron's memory. 

Xaerae's began studying magic in his spare time, almost as a way to rebel from the constant swordplay and lessons in mounted combat.  Xaeraes decided at some point in his fiftieth year that he would do more than honor his patron's memory, he would overshadow it.  A thousand years from now some elven child would be born having to struggle to live up to "his" memory, not Daisars!

When his warclan was contracted to help defend some territories in Khorvaire, it was Xaerae's ninetieth year.  Still too young in the warclan elders' eyes, they were strongly against Xaerae participating in the troubles of Khorvaire. 

It was one elder though, Xaerae's grand uncle Sulas, who pushed to allow Xaerae to go.  He argued that Xaerae had a determination that matched his patron, and to prevent him from following through on his determination to participate would be to dishonor Daisar's name. 

It was aggravating to have Daisar's name be the turning point that allowed him to leave Aeranal, but being sent was rewarding as well.  As he packed to leave, probably for several decades or centuries, Sulas approached him.  "Do your patron proud, but do your own name prouder", and with that, he left.  Xaerae's was shaken by his words, but then he thought about it, and he realized that it was always said that Sulas honored his patron Kerias well.  Perhaps Sulas had been in a similar position? 

Xaeraes left for Khorvaire reinvigorated, his spirits lifted by the knowledge that others in his family had felt as he did.  I will honor Daisar, but I'll honor my name as well!, Xaeraes thought to himself as he looked out over the ocean.

Upon arriving in Khorvaire, his warclan setout to perform their contractual duties.  Battle after battle, Xaeraes was kept back performing guard duty.  During the entirity of his warclan's participation in the war, the closest Xaeraes came to seeing action was helping mend his clanmate's wounds afterwards.

When the war had ended, and the Valaes Tairn had taken control of Valenar, Xaeraes was to be an honored guard in one of the inland fortresses that had been claimed.  After many restless nights where Xaeraes was unable to properly meditate, Xaeraes went to his captain, Lari'el,and told her he was leaving Valenar, this path was not his. 
Lari'el took this as an offense, told him he would be killed or worse, and that he was a fool. 

Xaeraes knew he'd have to face that anger at some point in what would be his long life, but he left anyways. 

He took a job guarding a House Lyrandar merchant ship to Sharn.  Other than a scuffle with some drunk sailors, Xaeraes saw none of the action he was now getting desperate to see. 

Xaeraes has spent the past few months wandering around from tavern to tavern meeting and talking with all sorts of strange people and races.  As his gold is nearly run out, Xaeraes is drunk less of the time, and he has begun to spend more time concerned about how he was going to make a name for himself. 

Xaeraes has made a lot of associates in Sharn, who know him to be more "fun" than other elves, and has begun to hang out in taverns where he might hear about people who need a strong sword arm or a swift mind.
